Treatment of root diseases in fruit trees

In recent years, due to improper fertilization or management, root diseases of fruit trees have generally occurred, causing great losses to farmers, and the correct treatment measures for fruit trees with root diseases have become an urgent matter.

In general, root diseases of fruit trees are caused by three main reasons: First, infection by pathogens; Second, the growth of fruit trees is weakened; Third, the soil environment in the rhizosphere is deteriorating, and harmful microorganisms dominate. Therefore, the treatment of the diseased fruit trees must also take measures against these three aspects at the same time, rather than relying on a single method.

First of all, we must solve the problem of root infection of fruit trees. On the diseased fruit trees, the main root of the disease should be clearly exposed and painted with a bactericide. The selected bactericide should be a drug that has a targeted effect on soil-borne pathogens, such as "hydantoin", and can also be used as a broad-spectrum bactericidal pesticide, such as copper preparations and iodine preparations. It should be reminded that the use of "azole" pesticides is not recommended when root sterilizing fruit trees. Because these pesticides have a certain inhibitory effect on crop growth, they have undesirable side effects on fruit trees that are already growing poorly.

After sterilizing the roots of fruit trees, it is necessary to adjust the growth potential of the debilitating fruit trees to promote their development. It is possible to use growth regulators that promote the growth of fruit trees as a whole, such as “Butuo”, or to use chitin preparations that have significant growth promoting effects on the roots of crops. For the poorly rooted fruit trees, in order to maintain their overall growth, they must be recharged from the foliage, and potassium nitrate can be sprayed many times a year, either for nitrogen or potassium. The potassium nitrate spray concentration is 0.3%. At the same time the root should pay attention to the application of calcium fertilizer. Calcium has the obvious effect of promoting the growth of fruit tree roots.

In diseased fruit trees, the soil environment in the rhizosphere is often very poor, and harmful microorganisms occupy a dominant position. This is an important cause of root disease in fruit trees. Therefore, after sterilizing the roots of the fruit trees and irrigating the growth regulators, high-quality microbial agents or microbial organic fertilizers (such as EM or bacterial agents containing a large number of spores) should be further applied to make beneficial bacteria account for the soil. It creates a dominant position and creates a good soil environment for the root growth of fruit trees.

After taking these measures in turn, most diseased trees can resume normal growth.
