Earlier media reports said that Jiangsu Haitian Salt Chemical Company used pesticide residue to illegally manufacture 14,000 tons of industrial salt and flowed into the salt market in 12 provinces and municipalities across the country. Some pesticide residue salt flowed into the dining table as salt.

According to the Jiangsu Salt Administration Department, Zhenjiang Haitian Salt Chemical Company is a chemical raw material production and operation enterprise registered by the industrial and commercial department of Zhenjiang New District in January 2010. The company uses industrial sodium chloride wet products as raw materials, processed into industrial salt, a total of 14,000 tons of external sales, sales of goods sold out of the name of the Ming and other chemical raw materials. Some unscrupulous traders in the Fuyang area of ​​Anhui Province imbibed some of the industrial salt sold by the company into the market and were seized by relevant authorities.

After the case of Fuyang, Anhui Province, relevant departments in Jiangsu conducted a thorough investigation of the situation of Zhenjiang Haitian Salt Chemical Company. After contacting with other provinces, the industrial salt used by Zhenjiang Haitian Salinization Company was sold to other provinces and cities for investigation, and it has not been found in the edible salt market.
