The following three errors in wild boar breeding should be avoided.

1, the higher the purity of special wild boar, the better

Practice has proved that the purity of special wild boar can be between 62.5-75%. This wild boar can be used as a commercial pig to market, in addition to breeding as a breeding pig. Special wild boars with a purity of more than 75% not only have reduced reproductive capacity and slow growth, but also require a high level of professionalism to ensure the survival of piglets.

2. Introduce purebred wild boars only and use local sows to breed special wild boars

At present, people in the industry generally use Duroc as the female wild-breeding hybrid (50% purity) special wild boar. The appearance, coat color, and carcass lean ratio of other breeds after hybridization are not ideal. There are two most scientific choices for attracting households: The introduction of purebred wild boar and 50% pure wild sow, purification and reproduction of 75% purity special wild boar, and the second is the direct introduction of 75% purity special wild boar for propagation. This can avoid the following disadvantages caused by the cross between purebred wild boars and Duroc sows: 1) The hybrid generation has a purity of only 50%, a secondary compounding is required to reach 75%, and the reproductive cycle is prolonged; 2) The Duroc sow is much larger than the wild boar, and it is not easy for the boar to cross the breeding stock; 3) The pure boar Duroc sows are much higher than the 50%-purity special wild boar.

3, playing tricks, make money using sales

Nowadays, the wild boar industry has shown a good development trend and the market has become more and more standardized. The establishment of a breeding farm requires approval of relevant departments, a strict elimination and selection system, and the establishment of separate breeding archives, and strict control The epidemic prevention can be sold only after avoiding inbreeding. Small farms are generally difficult to meet standards. In the long-term, farmers should engage in large-scale farming and take the game market and deep processing of products.
