Agricultural motor maintenance technology

Electric motors are one of the main power equipment for agricultural production, and the burning of agricultural electric motors is a very common phenomenon. To avoid burning the motor, the motor must be properly maintained.

Always keep the motor clean

The air inlet and outlet of the motor must be kept clean and unobstructed. Water, oil and other debris are not allowed to fall into the machine to avoid short circuit and burn the motor. Ensure that the motor has sufficient insulation resistance and good ventilation and cooling conditions to ensure safe operation of the motor for a long time.

Monitor motor load current must not exceed rated value

The overload operation of the motor is mainly caused by the voltage being too low, the load of the driven mechanical equipment being too large or stuck. If the overload time is too long, the motor insulation will age and fail due to overheating, which is an important reason for burning the motor. Therefore, pay attention to voltage changes during operation and suspend operation when the voltage is too low.

The transmission must be kept flexible and reliable
Check and adjust the transmission belt at any time to make it tight and maintain the coaxiality of the coupling. The gear transmission must not be jammed. If the towing transmission system is found to be jammed, it should be stopped immediately to eliminate the fault. At the same time, observe the load change. If it is too large, check the cause and adjust it before running.

Always check if the motor's three-phase current is balanced
For a three-phase asynchronous motor, the difference between any of the three-phase currents and the other two-phase averages must not exceed 10% to ensure the normal and safe operation of the motor. Therefore, it is often necessary to observe whether the three-phase current of the motor is balanced or has no phase loss during operation.

Always check the temperature and temperature rise of the motor
Check the presence or absence of abnormalities in the motor bearing, stator, casing, etc., whether the temperature rise and temperature of the motor meet the specified values. It is best to use effective measures, such as inserting a thermometer at the ring of the motor, and tightening and fixing with a cotton lump. Watch the temperature changes at any time. For the monitoring of temperature rise, pay special attention to whether the motor bearings are overheated or lack of oil. If the temperature rise of the bearing is too high, stop immediately to check the bearing rolling elements and raceways for cracks, scratches or defects, whether the bearing clearance is too large and sway, whether the inner ring rotates on the shaft, etc. If the above phenomenon occurs, The bearing should be replaced.

Observe the motor for vibration, noise and abnormal odor
The vibration of the motor causes the load portion connected to it to be different from the motor shaft, increasing the load current and burning the motor. During operation, always check the anchor bolts, motor end caps, bearing glands, etc. for looseness. Noise and odor are manifestations of abnormal motor operation and must be corrected before operation.

Ensure that the starting equipment is normal

Work practice has proved that many motor burns are caused by starting equipment. The maintenance of the starting equipment is mainly clean, fastened and in good contact. Regular dust removal, cleaning of contacts and coil cores, addition of dustproof and waterproof measures, tightening of bolts and nuts, checking whether the contact of the contactor is in good contact, and whether the movement of the mechanical part is flexible and accurate, so that it maintains a good technical state.
