Summer corn: science sowing topdressing watering

Dai Mingxun, currently deputy director and associate professor of the Department of Plant Protection of Agricultural College of Liaocheng University. In 1984, he graduated from Shandong Agricultural University with a bachelor's degree in plant protection. He has been teaching and researching plant nutrition and plant protection for many years. In recent years, with the expansion of wheat harvest area, summer sowing maize is generally used for planting. Such planting methods did not involve fine soil preparation, and there were more residual wheat straw, weeds, and pests in the field, which resulted in aggravation of corn diseases and pests such as rough dwarf disease, seedling blight, corn thrips, and two-pointed aphids. At the same time, because of the inability to apply fertilizers and other base fertilizers, many farmers have improperly applied top-dressing fertilizers, wasting fertilizers, and prematurely defertilizing and aging at the late stage of maize growth, affecting production.

On May 30th, at the Rural Mass Daily Service New Rural Forum held in Dong'a County, Dai Mingxun, an associate professor at the Agricultural College of Liaocheng University, gave a lecture in a popular language on how to select suitable varieties, apply scientific fertilization, and reasonably watered.
