“According to the market price, the dead fish that surfaced have already caused economic losses of more than 40,000 yuan.” Liang Ji told reporters that dead fish are mostly cold-tolerant tilapia and squid, and the water temperature is lower than 6 degrees Celsius. In places where the water level of fish ponds is shallow, reporters vaguely saw some dead fish under the water. The reporter learned from the Chongzuo Municipal Bureau of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine that the areas affected by low temperature in the city’s fishery are mainly Fusui County, Ningming County, Longzhou County, Pingxiang City, and Jiangzhou District. According to statistics, on January 19, there were 27.30 tons of dead fish in the city’s fishery, causing an economic loss of 268,500 yuan. From January 1 to January 19, 23,364 acres of water were affected, and 625.19 tons of fish were lost, resulting in economic losses of 5.597 million yuan.
