Discussion on the use and routine maintenance of rotary tiller

Key words rotary tiller; use; routine maintenance

Abstract: The proper use of rotary tiller and the maintenance of specifications are essential for machine performance and efficiency. Mastering the correct use and routine maintenance methods can improve the working efficiency of the rotary tiller and extend the service life of the rotary tiller.

In recent years, due to the implementation of the purchase subsidy policy in the country, large and medium-sized tractors have developed rapidly, and the number of rotary tillers associated with them has increased rapidly, and the structure of agricultural machinery has been optimized. So far, our county has 4,915 large and medium-sized tractors and 4,850 rotary tillers. Because of the sufficient soil after the rotary tillage operation, the surface is smooth, and the operation process is reduced, it is welcomed by the majority of farmers. However, proper use and maintenance are essential to the performance and efficiency of the machine. Therefore, it is necessary to master the correct use and routine maintenance methods.

1 method of use

1.1 blade installation method

In order to adapt to different agronomic requirements, different blade installation methods can achieve different farming effects.

(1) Staggered installation method. The left and right curved knives are arranged symmetrically on the arbor, and a knife at the outermost left and right ends of the arbor should be bent inward. This method is suitable for flat work after rotary tillage, which is a common installation method.

(2) Inward installation method. Both the left and right curved knives are bent in the middle of the arbor. This method has a ridge in the middle of the ploughing after rotary tillage, which is suitable for tillage before hoeing. It can also make the unit work across the ditch to fill the trench.

(3) Outward installation method. The left and right scimitars are bent toward both ends of the cutter shaft, and a knife at the outermost end of the cutter shaft is bent inward. After the method of rotary tillage, there is a shallow ditch in the middle of the tillage, which is suitable for the combined operation of demolition tillage or rotary tillage.

1.2 connection installation

When installing the rotary tiller, first cut off the power of the tractor's power output shaft, remove the output shaft cover, reversing and hooking the rotary tiller, and then insert the universal joint with the square shaft into the drive shaft of the rotary tiller. Rotary tiller, turn the cutter shaft by hand to see if it is flexible, and then put the universal joint with the sleeve into the tractor power output shaft. When installing, please pay attention: the square joints of the square shaft and the square bushing should be in the same plane. If it is installed incorrectly, the universal joint will make a sound, the vibration of the rotary tiller will increase, and the machine can be damaged. Attention should also be paid to the length of the square shaft to ensure that the square shaft and the square sleeve and the clamping fork are neither dead nor have sufficient mating length when the rotary tiller is working and lifting. After the universal joint is installed, insert the safety pin into the groove on the spline shaft and lock it with the split pin.

1.3 Adjustment before farming

(1) Left and right horizontal adjustments. Lower the rotary tiller so that the tool tip is close to the ground, depending on whether the left and right tool tips are at the same height from the ground; if they are not consistent, adjust the height of the right suspension bar so that the cutter tip is at the same height from the ground to ensure left and right. The depth of cultivation is consistent.

(2) Adjustment before and after the level. When the rotary tiller is lowered to the required depth of ploughing, the upper rod of the tractor suspension mechanism is adjusted according to the angle of the universal joint, so that the universal joint is close to the level, and the universal joint and the whole unit are operated under favorable conditions.

1.4 adjustment during use

The adjustment of the rotary tiller can be carried out during the trialing, or it can be adjusted at any time according to the specific conditions during the operation.

(1) Till depth adjustment. The wheeled tractor can be used with the tiller depth of the rotary tiller. It can be controlled by the tractor hydraulic depth adjustment or the limit slide on the rotary tiller (the direct-connected rotary tiller is controlled by changing the length of the lifting chain or the tie rod).

The tilling depth of the walking tractor with the rotary tiller is controlled by the tail wheel or the skid. If the adjustment still fails to meet the requirements, the clamping handle can be loosened and the tail wheel casing can be lifted to increase the depth of the tillage.

(2) Performance adjustment of broken soil. The performance of the soil is related to the forward speed of the tractor and the speed of the cutter shaft. When the speed of the cutter shaft is constant, the traveling speed of the tractor is increased, and the soil block is increased; otherwise, it is decreased. Changing the height position of the flat soil board also affects the soil-breaking effect. When used, the flat soil board can be fixed at a certain position according to the needs.

(3) Level adjustment. The left and right horizontal adjustment of the three-point hanging type rotary tiller is adjusted by the right lifting rod of the suspension mechanism; the horizontal adjustment before and after is adjusted by the upper rod to ensure the consistency of the depth of the tillage.

(4) Increase the height adjustment. With a rotary tiller driven by a universal joint, the inclination in the transmission of the universal joint cannot be greater than 30°, so the lift cannot be too high. Generally, as long as the blade is 15-20 cm away from the ground; when the lift is too high, the square shaft, casing and fork joint will die, which will sprain the universal joint and the power output shaft. The bridge housing is scrapped. The hydraulic joystick should be limited to the allowable lift height during use.

1.5 precautions in the operation

(1) Always pay attention to whether the rotary tiller has noise or metal knocking sound when working. If there is any abnormality, stop it and check it out.

(2) It is strictly forbidden to work when turning and reversing the ground to avoid damage to the machine.

(3) When the unit starts, it must first engage the power output shaft, then hang the working gear, slowly release the clutch pedal; at the same time, operate the hydraulic lifting handle to make the rotary cultivator gradually enter the soil, and then increase the throttle to make the knife roll reach the specified ploughing. Deep down. It is forbidden to put the rotary cutter into the soil or put it into the soil before starting.

(4) When working, stop every half day to check whether the blade is loose or deformed; when working in paddy field, add grease to the shaft bearing and universal joint.

(5) When the parking is stopped, the rotary tiller should be grounded and not allowed to hang.

(6) When transferring or crossing the field, the power should be cut off to raise the rotary tiller to the highest position; when transferring from a long distance, the universal joint should be removed from the power output shaft, and the rotary tiller should be fixed by the locking device. In a certain position, it is not allowed to place heavy objects or sit on the rotary tiller.

2 maintenance and maintenance

(1) After working every day, remove the mud oil from the bearing seat, the cutter shaft and the retaining cover, tighten the screws and nuts of each connecting part, check the oil level of the gear box, and add if necessary. Fill the relevant parts with grease as specified in the instructions.

(2) Regularly check the wear of the blade during operation and check whether the oil seal at both ends of the cutter shaft is invalid. At the end of the operation, in addition to thoroughly removing external mud and oil, the gear box should be cleaned and new lubricant added, and the shaft bearings and oil seals should be inspected and cleaned and filled with new lubricant.

(3) After the end of each day's work, grease the cross shaft, check whether the universal joint cross shaft is loosened due to the wear of the needle roller, or the soil is not flexible, if necessary, disassemble and refill grease.
